Material Injection Molding encompasses metal injection molding, copper injection molding, titanium injection molding, ceramic injection molding and plastic injection molding.
Stage 1 - Mixing
Metal powder is mixed with polymer in a mixer at elevated temperature.
Stage 2 - Injection
The feedstock is injected into a mold through a standard injection molding machine to obtain the 3-dimensional geometry according to design.
Stage 3 - Debinding
After injection, the polymer is removed in the debinding stage at elevated temperature.
Stage 4 - Sintering
At sintering, the brown part is heated at higher temperature to enable the metal particles to solid-fuse to a dense metal part. Shrinkage of the brown part to metal part is about 10%-15%
